A Pilot Program was held to validate the programme essentials on March 22nd 2022 at the Innovations Laboratory of Yenepoya Medical college.
This was inaugurated by Dr Vijaya Kumar Vice Chancellor Yenepoya and Dr Taslim Arif, Director C-CAMP in the presence of faculty and students of Yenepoya Medical and Engineering College.
After the inauguration, a group of doctors and Engineering students and staff entered into discussions to identify problems and formed teams to solve them.
The teams and their problems defined are illustrated here.
In addition to glucose in human blood, there are also considerable amounts of glucose in other biofluids (such as saliva, tears, sweat, and ISF) which can be estimated by utilizing the coherent correlation between biofluids and blood glucose value, the electrochemical method usually measures the glucose content in body fluids first and obtains the blood glucose value indirectly.
Currently, two instruments are used to take blood sugar. One for pricking and another for checking the reading using strips. Blood sugar monitoring device which can both prick and give the reading. Also, it can store and display as well as wirelessly transmit data.
The blood sugar monitoring is done by a point of care device which is presently noted down in a book. The physician must go to all the wards and check this book to titrate the medicine doses.
The proposed solution is to have a web application to do real-time tracking of the blood sugar of these patients
