India's effort to create an Atma Nirbhar Bharat derives its strength from a vibrant start up culture based on its intelligent, motivated workforce, backed by financial support from Government grants and Venture capital.
In the Health Sector, there are unrecognised challenges, such as lack of cross specialisation dialogue, which hampers efforts to form cohesive teams, and mature identification of problems and solutions to address that.
The ICMR DHR Policy document in February 2022 highlighted the need for concerted action in this field in India.
CCAMP Inter Institutional Biomedical Innovation Programme (CIBIP) seeks to set up a systematic method to address this in conjunction with Universities, Medical and Engineering Colleges in India.
