Pharma Innovations in India. India’s pharmaceutical industry is at a pivotal point, with the potential to become a global leader in drug development and healthcare solutions. However, realizing this potential hinges on overcoming significant challenges, such as the compartmentalization of knowledge and the lack of interdisciplinary collaboration, which currently hinder the effective translation of academic research into practical innovations. For academia, this presents both a challenge and an opportunity to play a transformative role in shaping the future of healthcare, by fostering a culture of interdisciplinary collaboration and critical inquiry, thus driving the next wave of pharmaceutical innovations that can address both national and global health challenges. Innovations in India CIBIP is an Inter-Institutional Biomedical Innovations Programme for Academic Institutions set up to address these issues.
